About this project
The SCS-C5 Configuration Software was designed as a tool for custom integrators of high-end multiroom audio systems to permit configuration of the C-Series products. These products can accommodate up to 48 rooms with individual access to up to eight unique sources of audio content. This tool streamlines the configuration of hundreds of options through an easy to use interface providing exceptional value to the customer. The SCS-C5 software is a free download for use on computers running Microsoft Windows and is available through the Support Center on the Russound website.
My Involvement
I was responsible for all phases of this products development from the conception, design, approval and release to customers. I continued these efforts well beyond the product launch into its lifecycle as new features were added. performed market research on competitive products to understand what the strengths and weaknesses of each were. I also performed user research through observing how other products were used, when and why as compared to other solutions. Faced with constraints of existing software architecture, I was able to take this data and create a detailed Product Requirements Document that defined all the features and behavior of the product.
Product Requirements Documentation
The *Product Requirements Document is a 180 page document created to detail out virtually every feature, attribute, elements and conditions for the product including a detailed Definitions and Descriptions.

Interaction Design
Visio was used as the design tool and all interactive behavior was defined in detail for all known use cases including conditional logic. This content was exported into the Product Requirements Document along with a full definition of the Visual Design and non interactive on-screen elements.
